Today I am working again with the question of what to do when, after the penguin update the positions of your domain have fallen extremely.
A single person is rarely to blame for such a plight. Mostly this is due to the cessation of all managers to have 1) not properly dealt with the topic of SEO and 2) wanted to achieve a lot in a very short time. SEO blogs around the world have noted for some time (for years!) on the dangers of money-keyword link text. The problem was that an aggressive approach was never really punished, except it had really been greatly exaggerated. In the SEO field must not only be up-to-date, you have to be ahead of the algorithm. Although keyword anchor texts had brought more, we have long been drained from it. That meant a lot more work for us than for others. And now? Now we have benefited, while the “aggressive” SEOs have been punished.
However, if the boss, the customer or the company wants to see quick results, then you had to proceed very far so aggressive. Or you had the guts to oppose this, because we knew that this strategy although less effective, but was sustained. I want to say is: It is not always ignorance, but often also have been pure intention. If now the ranking crashes, then not only the link builders involved, but also the customer or the boss.
It is not easy to come back out of a Penguin Penalty. Because in many cases it is due to a lopsided ratio of money-keyword link text (“credit”, “overnight”, now also “compare credit line”) to mark link text (“Domain.de”, “domain”, “Company Name “” mark “). Now you have three options:
Leave everything and the ranking will never come back again
Changing the anchors
Building new better links
I personally would prefer the third method.
Modification of existing anchor text
Google is not stupid. What many people always ignore that Google has historical data and involves such historic data into the algorithm. So they know, it was found that the link with the anchor text X “credit” for the first time on 11/10/2009. They will also find out if the link was posted on 09/05/2012 suddenly transformed into “Domain.de” and nothing else happened. If this is true for some hundreds of links, then the page still does not stand out from the penalty, unless you change their additional link building strategy.
I would rate it positively in the first place, if the link building is done now clean. Google has a “record” for each domain. Even with a “criminal record” you can have more success at Google. It is important that it is changing. So, instead of now trying again to deceive the algorithm (by changing the link text), I would turn my gaze to the future and are working now just clean. And does not the link text, but simply deletes the links.
I can also understand if one wants to reduce active – especially if there are a lot of links. They should read the article from Bjorn.
Professionalization of the industry? Sorry, I can see it at the moment but nothing at all. In terms of sales to professionalize some SEO service provider, perhaps. But who takes the time to look for projects on a regular basis to other SEOs and their rankings? The comments in my last article was partially truly “enlightening” me. Because some people believe they have understood the entire update, because your three mini-projects have gone down from 5 to 2 visitors per day. Maybe then they have lost only one of its three links? Sorry, but this is something to be said. We have not (like many) believe “mega projects” and hundreds of thousands of visitors, but we look not just our domains, but many, many different sites and then analyze what these sites have in common. It’s that simple! Who said so, that the Penguin update has nothing to do with anchor text, because the farmer Hubert’s House site is indeed 10 times linked with “House” (of 15 links) he should do something else, please!
SEO is not easy
Thankfully SEO is becoming increasingly difficult. The trend is clearly towards the topic of “digital marketing”. In addition to the technical requirements (onpage) good SEO is more “generic” marketing as to buy any links. A professional SEO agency in Germany has had good experiences with it. The websites of their clients had no losses. Here is their website for suchmaschinenoptimierung berlin
SEO is not “hop or Top”
One thing I have to get rid of yet, the algorithm of Google is very fair. A signal is usually enough not to collect a punishment. Only when several factors come together, then it can pop. As an example, I am over here Spiegel.de: The mirror could never come in a filter with “hard” anchor text. Why not? Because they get so many volunteers left, they would need a huge SEO team to the natural links “counter”. This would of course not. And even then Google would still see a lot of natural links. But who has
Only purchased links
only links from link networks
will never get any success in the future.
